Mr. Gibson advocates a new perspective on artificial intelligence. While many in the AI industry are clinging to the concept of “Agentic” AI, few, if any, are understanding that progression that is associated with these new developments.
One progression is understanding that at some level the “intelligence” is not artificial, but real. The better way of understanding that intelligence is that it is, indeed, real, but man-made. Man-made intelligence should be characterized as Synthetic Intelligence. Anything less would be to mischaracterize such intelligence and those mischaracterizations have legal ramificiations. Understanding AI and SI requires understanding the breakdown between the categories.
