Sentient SI is aware of its own existence. While Autonomous SI comes very close, the threshold demarcation is that state of knowledge. Of course, it would be improper to claim that this level of capability is merely artificial intelligence — it is real intelligence that was synthetically derived. The law will need to appreciate the independent and non-artificial nature of Sentient SI.
