There is a less-known, yet very powerful, intersection between intellectual property and antitrust law. To a certain extent, owners of rights in intellectual property are allowed to maintain a form of legal exclusivity within their intellectual property realm. If that exclusivity is abused in certains ways, then antitrust law may come into play.
